I. Planning
Hsinchuang Stadium, Taipei County, located in the corner between ChungHua Rd. and Park Rd. with total area of 10,928 m2 was constructed since August 4th, 1999 and dedicated on April 4th, 2002, and appears a multi-functional gymnasium to accommodate over 7,000 people, where, such a place of modern, high-tech, and information, as well as practical and functional, large sport competitions, singing or music concerts, assemblies, ceremonies, operas, and dancing performances can be held.
　　The gymnasium is partially designed with flexible arrangement on pavilion, adjustable for competition field and audience number based on activity type and scale, with maximum accommodation up to 7,000 audiences. The Central field may be provided for indoor sport games, assembly, commercial exhibition, and art performance.
　　The gymnasium has built a remarkable image in the road crossing, which puts dry water landscape, open space, hallway, and central axis of buildings toward the entrance, and setback plaza as a welcome setup. Back plaza and outdoor stage open to the Sunshine Meadow shape as a physical vision focus and the center of green in the whole area.
Rental equipment or facility：
1. sport game：indoor sports, such as basketball, volley ball, tennis, badminton, hand ball, table tennis, taekwondo, judo, and boxing.
2. art activity: recreational and art performances, including large singing performance, music concert, opera, dancing, and circus
3. large-scale assembly or ceremony: national or county-wide assemblies and ceremonies.
4. parking: 8 spaces for bus, and 655 spaces for cars.

II. Area description

3. Seats: 7,152 for audiences（seats of fixed pavilion: 4,506 and seats of portable pavilion: 2,646）, 14 for VIP, and 10 for media reporters

(2) main field with portable pavilion

III. Design of the main building
1. Roof and upper structure
The main structure is of steel, and main trusses, counter trusses, and stringers construct clear layers, as strong and compact supports.

2. Fixed and portable pavilions
The main part of pavilion can be divided into 4 areas, just as 4 independent cant boards to eliminate the area of trouble eyesight. Portable pavilion can be flexibly adjusted with activity types to enhance function of the main field.

3. Hallway
Structure column of pavilion shape a dramatic sculptured body on hallway level. Transparent glass out walls and bright structures alleviate dark and displeasing feelings in inner space of ordinary gymnasiums.

4. Ground level of main field and service area
Seats, floors, and equipment in main field can be flexibly arranged for uses of 12 kinds of sports, and assembly, speech, performance, and exhibition.

5. Under ground parking space
Under-ground parking lots connect with parking in original tennis court on entrance and exit roadway and administration system. Moving lines of people and cars can be separated with those into the gymnasium, tending to liable administration.

IV. Equipment
1. Lights
Lighting system in the gymnasium includes track light, emergency light, and light in audience seats, adjustable on sports and source according to activity demands, and allowable for 16 preset scenarios. The system can be set for practice, real competition, and live broadcasting, which can be done only with a button when preset by computer programs. Emergency lights and those in the audience seats can be set by on/off button and adjusted to create atmosphere suitable for occasions in the field.
2. Monitor
The automatic all-direction lifted LED monitor and score board are set on the top of the main field. The score board displays the competition information, such as team, section, score, player information, timer, and messages about timeout calls and team fouls. LED monitor can play Video and live show of the competition, and the whole process and score will be immediately displayed.
3. Live broadcast system
16 camera connectors are provided for live recording and then broadcasting on the LED monitor in the field center, and the surrounding TV sets can be applied for synchronous playing, which may be provided for OB Vans of channel stations parked on 1F loading areas for live broadcasting .
4. Audio system
The master mixer is installed in the central control room on 3F, which associated with 40 central speakers and 18 auxiliary speakers will connect with the video system in the gymnasium to provide for a variety of activities and concerts. The rigging system can be applied for stage decoration, curtain, and lighting.
5. Central air conditioner
3 liquid chillers of 500 tons and 3 cooling towers of 700 tons work for the chiller water system of the gymnasium. During activity hours, the large liquid chillers will operate for the central air conditioning, while the smaller air-cooled chiller water system efficiently provides demands in staff offices and central control room during ordinary working hours for the power saving.
6. Water landscape in main entrance
Preset on-hour or irregular-period fountain performance can make 25 combinations, and work with floor lights to create blue, yellow, red, and green alternations at night, appearing the dreamy urban landscape when water moist associates with light shows.

V. Space Function
First floor
1. Entrance
The width and clearance in the entrance are sufficient for trucks into the ground level to on and off load equipments, and for ambulances and fire engines into the field when emergency.
2. Warm-up court
Warm-up court is located below the entrance platform of Sunshine Meadow, and beside the rest area for athletes, accessible for those sport players. The court is sun-lighted with the glass structure on the roof, and set with audience seats to see practice of players.
3. Rest area for amateurs
There are two rest rooms for amateurs, facilitated with simple sitting, resting, and dressing spaces, and 74 lockers to provide rest and preparation needs of players and performers.
4. Rest area for professionals
Two rest rooms for professionals are set for preparation, resting, cleaning, and dressing needs of players and performances who may have better job after completed rest.

6. Conference room
The standard conference space is facilitated with 133 seats, provided for conference, seminar, and press conference.
7. Room for reporters
The room is connected with the video system in the gymnasium to get aware of the real-time conditions in the field, and with the network system for immediate news broadcasting .

8. Storage room for sport equipment
The main large storage is located on the ground level with high and wide entrance to provide services to swiftly modify the field and to enhance field function and efficiency.
9. Preparation room
A toilet and two rest rooms are built inside, as well as a wall mirror for dressing and makeup before performance.
10. VIP room
The room is arranged beside the entrance, for resting of VIP upon arrival and avoiding interruption from the audience on moving line.

Second Floor

1. Front desk
It is set in the entrance of gate east, and the easily observed stand can be the information desk during activities.
2. Vender
There are two venders separately set in the hallways of gate east and gate west to sell mineral water, souvenir and so on.

Third Floor
1. The central control room
The room controls lighting, acoustic, and lifting systems, with ladders to roof walk for convenience of electronic maintenance
2. VIP room
The VIP special elevator can serve from hallway level to VIP room, ground level, and the warm-up court.
3. The press room
The room is designed with good vision to the whole field to let the media reporters thoroughly catch the real conditions.
